The course content is entirely up to you! Your instructor will, of course, try to determine if you have any preferences in regard to your course content bearing in mind the time constraints (half day vs. full day). However, to give you some idea of the kind of content other students have requested, we have compiled a short list below:-
General Content
Your instructor will focus on junctions, roundabouts, road signs, road markings etc. paying particular attention to road positioning, observations and overall awareness.
Town Specific Content
In addition to the more general content, your instructor will focus on riding in more built-up areas such as town centres; dealing with pedestrians and cyclists; filtering etc.
Country Lane Specific Content
In addition to the more general content, your instructor will focus on country lane work and how we negotiate bends through ‘reading’ the limit point of the bend; the dead man zone on left-hand bends; the use of countersteering; dealing with hills; horses and accompanied riders etc.
Motorway specific Content
In addition to the more general content, your instructor will focus on motorway riding with an emphasis on joining and leaving motorways or dual carriageways; lane discipline; the importance of rear observations etc.
